🏋🏻♂️ Wall-Mounted Strength: Building a Full Gym on the Wall
When you're working with a small footprint, every inch matters—especially when you’re trying to fit a full gym into the same room as your home office. That’s where wall-mounted gym gear comes in clutch. In my setup, nearly everything lifts, folds, or stores vertically, giving me back my floor and flexibility.
Here’s a closer look at the wall-mounted equipment I use, why I chose it, and how it helps me keep a clean, high-functioning gym right inside my home.
💪🏻 The Anchor: PRx Pro Rack (Low Ceiling)
This purple PRx rack is the centerpiece of my gym. It folds up against the wall in seconds and is rock solid when it’s down.
Folds flat for easy room conversion
Wall-mounted pull-up bar and dip station
Built to handle real lifts—no wobble, no shortcuts
Hydrolic shocks make folding up and down super easy. And did I mention it looks amazing?
💪🏻 Bench That Disappears
I pair my PRx rack with their fold-up bench. This thing locks into the wall when not in use, saving precious space.
Locks into place vertically when not in use with the bench wall locking system (sold separately, but worth it for the extra security).
No dragging or propping—just lift and latch
It’s shockingly sturdy for a bench that folds, and it allows me to do everything from incline presses to Bulgarian split squats without clutter.
🏋️ Plate & Barbell Storage (The Unsung Hero)
Directly beside the rack and bench, I’ve mounted:
Vertical barbell holder (holds my main bar & curl bar)
Plate storage rack that hugs the wall
Hooks for bands, collars, and accessories
Everything has a place—and more importantly, everything stays off the floor.
🏋️ Dumbbell & Kettlebell Racks
On an adjacent wall, I mounted two shelves of dumbbell storage and tucked a row of kettlebells below it. Compact but accessible.
Each weight is easy to grab, even during supersets
Foam rollers and resistance balls tuck neatly behind
Mounted shelving above provides extra storage that serves both the office & the gym (win!)
The wall space is doing quite a bit of heavy lifting here: gear storage + motivational decals + mounted shelves above for storage bins and books.
✨ Final Thoughts
Wall-mounted gear is the only way I can keep this space functional for both work and workouts. It's not just about saving room—it's about protecting your time, energy, and motivation. The easier it is to switch modes, the more likely you are to stick with it.
Whether you're starting from scratch or thinking about a gym refresh, go vertical. Your floor (and future self) will thank you.
